May 20, 2020

FWA Church Family,

As you are aware, on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down the Safer at Home order, essentially reopening the state of Wisconsin.  Since then, local municipalities have implemented their own guidelines, and businesses have reacted accordingly.

The question for us as a church is, “When can we safely and responsibly resume in-person gatherings?”  We have been working very hard to gather data and put together a plan to answer that question.

Our tentative plan for in-house services will be May 31st, 2020 with ONE 9am service with limitations in place for the safety of all.

We know there are people who feel strongly that we should reopen ASAP.  We also know that there are some who won’t return for a few more months, because they or someone they love is more vulnerable or at risk, and we understand. We know that we risk disappointing many people no matter what we decide.  As your pastor, I ask that you give grace and understanding for both opinions.  Those who want to meet immediately are not more spiritual or less sensitive and those who want to stay home for a while are not more sensitive or less spiritual.

Also, as a church we want to be as cautious and responsible as possible. And we want the body to not only be safe but to feel safe. We completely understand if you do not want to return in person at the time our doors open, and we will respect that decision.

We will start with limitations in place and we will remove those limitations as we see the threat of this virus continue to diminish in our county.

FWA Kids – Ages birth to 5th grade
We will NOT have FWA kids, Nursery or Preschool on Sundays or Wednesdays until at Least July 5th. On Sundays, you are welcome to attend as a family; we ask that your kids sit with you during the service. Self-serve Nursery and Preschool for parent supervised children. They will not be staffed with volunteers at this time. We will still continue to offer Parent Resources for our children online during this time. And the service will be broadcasted in the Nursery.

FWA YTH – Grades 6th to 12th
FWA YTH will begin meeting June 3rd in the basement of FWA. Pastor Isaac and the youth leaders will make sure safe practices are followed.

At this time will NOT be offered.

We will not initiate contact with people physically. Our doors will be propped open, so you don’t have to touch anything on your way in or out. The offering will not be taken as usual, but the buckets will be on tables in the back of the sanctuary for you to use.

If people want to receive prayer during the service, we will pray for them without touching each other at this time.

Every other row with be taped off to allow for distancing. We also ask that you allow for TWO chairs in between you and another family. It will look different at first, but it’s not forever. We can broadcast the service into the Fellowship Hall for overflow if needed.

We had our building professionally cleaned and we will diligently clean it after every service. We have hand sanitizers located by the nursery and the back of the sanctuary and will be adding more.

What if I’m not ready to come back?
Can people stay home and still attend church? YES! We have made significant upgrades to our online livestream so that people can still experience church from their home. If you are sick, feeling sick, at-risk or are not comfortable meeting in person, please stay home! We care about you and we understand.

We live in an interesting time and we know that God works ALL Things for His Glory and our good.

Let’s be patient with each other.  Let’s be respectful of all people.  And let’s pray that people would be drawn to Jesus through this crisis.

Always in HIS grip!
